IT Industry in Japan

Home to many world-renowned electronics brands, Japan has been at the forefront of the global IT and Communications industry.

With a receptive domestic market and reputation for excellence in science and technology, the Japanese government sees Information Technology and Communications as one of the main pillars of their future economic growth.

At the same time, the Japanese tendency to embrace new technology in daily life makes the country a promising market for firms engaged with digital technology.

With the industry slated to exceptionally boom in the upcoming years, the Japanese authorities are faced with the crucial shortage of domestic IT professionals. According to a report by Japan Times, Japan will face a shortage of close to 600,000 IT-related professionals by 2030. Japan eyes India as one of the major IT-powerhouses of the world and has been building policies and programs to recruit IT professionals from India and create full-time employment opportunities for them in Japan.
