The Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) Caregiver Program is a government-recognized employment pathway that enables foreign nationals to work in Japan’s caregiving sector.
Japan’s growing elderly population has created a strong demand for caregivers who can support elderly individuals with their daily living activities, rehabilitation, and overall well-being.
To qualify under this pathway, candidates are generally required to:
✓ Achieve Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N4 level
✓ Clear the SSW Caregiver Skill Examination
✓ Successfully complete employer interviews
✓ Meet applicable visa and immigration requirements
Upon completion of these requirements ND selection by a Japanese employer, candidates can begin their caregiving careers in Japan.

No. Both programs start from foundational Japanese language training.
If you are a Class XII pass candidate or graduate without a nursing qualification, the International Care Giving (ICG) – Japan pathway is recommended. If you are an ANM, GNM, B.Sc. Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing candidate, the Japan Caregiving Language Program is designed specifically for you.
Placement assistance is provided to candidates who successfully complete program requirements and meet employer and immigration eligibility criteria.
Candidates are generally required to achieve Japanese language proficiency equivalent to N4 level and clear the SSW Caregiver Skill Examination.
Yes. Genrise provides support from training and examinations through employer interviews, visa guidance, pre-departure orientation, and post-arrival assistance.
