Join Japan’s SSW Caregiving Program and step into a rewarding career in Japan where your skills make a real difference.
Date: This Thursday | Time: 4 PM
Launched in April 2019, Japan’s SSW visa program provides opportunities for foreign nationals to work in sectors facing manpower shortages. One of the most in-demand fields is caregiving, where candidates support the elderly and those in need of daily assistance. Under the India–Japan MoC signed in 2021, trained caregivers from India can build rewarding careers in Japan while contributing to its healthcare system.

This program is open to individuals aged 18 and above who have either completed caregiver training, gained relevant experience, or are willing to undergo caregiver education. Basic knowledge of the Japanese language is required to live and work smoothly.

To qualify, candidates must pass Japanese language exams (for daily life and workplace communication) and a caregiving skills test. However, individuals who have already completed three years under the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) in caregiving are exempt from these exams, giving them a faster route.

Under the SSW Caregiver program, participants can stay and work in Japan for up to five years. While family accompaniment is not permitted during this period, successful candidates gain valuable international experience, financial stability, and the possibility of moving toward long-term opportunities in Japan’s healthcare sector.

The SSW Caregiver pathway allows foreign nationals to work in professional caregiving roles—supporting the elderly and those in need of daily assistance. With Japan’s aging population, caregivers are highly valued and respected in society.

The Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) visa was introduced by the Government of Japan in 2019 to address labor shortages in critical industries. Among these, nursing care (caregiving) is one of the most important and in-demand sectors.
Japan, with an average age above 48, is facing a severe shortage of caregivers due to its aging society and shrinking workforce. India, on the other hand, has an average age of 26, offering a young and skilled talent pool. To fill this gap, Japan introduced programs like TITP and SSW, allowing overseas candidates to work as caregivers for 3–5 years. Through its collaboration with India, hundreds of trained caregivers have already started their journey to Japan, building stable careers while supporting Japan’s healthcare system.

Japan’s aging population ensures strong demand for caregivers, offering stable and secure employment.

Earn competitive wages compared to similar roles in many countries, with opportunities for financial growth.
